Fall is surely here and with the colder weather also comes the cold and flu season. Here are some tips and tricks to help you stay
healthy throughout the entire year:
Wash your hands!! Hand washing is your best line of defense against the spread of germs. Wash your hands often and thoroughly using warm water and soap. It is a good idea to wash your hands before and after meals, after using the restroom, or any time you come and go from your apartment. Also, try and avoid touching your face. You have a lot of ways for the germs to get in, so try and keep them away.
Get your flu shot! Getting your flu shot can be one of your biggest protectors against the flu.
Eat a healthy a balanced diet. We need to fuel our bodies with healthy choices in order to feel our best! The brighter and more colorful your plate is, the better it is for you!
Get Moving! Exercising helps us stay healthy in so many ways, but it can also help us avoid sickness. 30 minutes a day is all it takes! Check out a fitness class or head up to the gym.
Get a good night’s sleep! When we sleep our bodies heal themselves. When we don’t get enough sleep, it stresses our bodies out, which can actually cause us to get sick more often. Getting enough rest each night is pivotal to staying healthy this fall. If you’re having trouble sleeping have a conversation with your doctor, it could be a simple solution, like getting more exercise throughout the day.
